In 1960, a small but an ardent group of Mission devotees hired a room in a slum area in Murphy Town, Bengaluru. They started conducting a biweekly medical clinic for the poor and needy. When Swami Chinmayananda heard about the Murphy Town project and its volunteers, he decided to start a hospital, and the seed of Chinmaya Mission Hospital was sown.

Funds were collected, land purchased, construction planned and executed, and in 1970, Swami Chinmayananda officially inaugurated Chinmaya Mission Hospital (CMH) at Indira Nagar in the cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru, India.

On November 6, 1999, Chinmaya Mission Hospital extended its ceilings, floors, walls and staff. From its humble beginnings in 1970, CMH has emerged as a modern, tertiary-care multi-speciality 200-bed hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.

As an ISO 9001:2008 certified Hospital under the aegis of the Karnataka Chinmaya Seva Trust, the Chinmaya Mission Hospital is committed to enabling medical access for all sections of society. </p>
