Residential Vedanta Course

Swami Chinmayananda’s vision for the spread of Advaita Vedanta was to build a group of well-educated, highly trained teachers who were willing to leave personal ties behind and take up a renounced life, dedicated to teaching and service in centres across India and beyond.
Two year residential teacher training courses are conducted in English, Hindi, Malalayam and other regional languages. At the end of the course, students decide, with the advice of their acharya, whether to commit as Brahmacharis to a life of teaching and service in the Mission, or whether to serve the community as householder teachers and devotees.

Traditional Gurukal Training

  • The purpose of Chinmaya’s Missions 2 year residential Vedanta course is to provide a protected ‘gurukul’ environment where students 'live in', immersing themselves in sadhana and study of core Vedantic texts under the guidance of an acharya.

  • The course is traditional in its teaching methodology, though smart use is made of technology to facilitate learning. The curriculum is standardized with an exhaustive study of the ‘Prasthana-trayi’, the primary triad of the Hindu scriptures comprising the Upanishads, the Brahmasutras and the Bhagavad Gita.

Centred in Him who is ever in your heart, act honestly with endless love, for the welfare and wellbeing of all others.
