Vedanta Sadhaka Course

Chinmaya Mission offers a unique one-year residential Vedanta Sadhaka Course through Chinmaya Vishwa Vidhyapeeth, the Mission’s accredited tertiary institution. The course is held at Chinmaya International Foundation, located in the sublime atmosphere of Adi Shankara Nilayam the maternal birth-home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya, near Cochin, Kerala. Graduates of the course receive a Post Graduate Diploma in Advaita Vedanta.

Course Teachers

Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati, is a polyglot with expertise in Sanskrit, Indian Philosophy (Yoga and Advaita Vedanta) with an in-depth understanding of ritualistic and cultural traditions. A post-graduate in Advaita Vedanta, he secured a first rank at the All India level, and was awarded a gold medal from the prestigious Sanskrit university, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.

Swamiji has been Acharya for Sanskrit and Purohit courses offered by Chinmaya Mission. He was also the Acharya of the two-year residential Vedanta Course in Malayalam (2018 – 2020) at Kerala Sandeepany, Adi Sankara Nilayam. He is also a member of the Academic Council of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV).

Purpose

The Vedanta Sadhaka course is a one-year (two-semester) residential program comprising intensive study of the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita and other important Vedantic texts. It has been thoughtfully designed to help seekers of any background acquire complete clarity on the teachings of Advaita Vedanta and the various spiritual practices for living the life of a ‘sadhaka’, a spiritual seeker.

The course provides a rare opportunity for all sincere seekers to learn Vedanta following a disciplined schedule of classes and spiritual activities within an ashram setting and is designed to promote learning, reflection and contemplation.
Students withdraw from external activities for the duration of the course and are guided at every stage by highly qualified teachers in the traditional gurukul method.

Course Teachers

Brahmachari Ved Chaitanya, presently serving at Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), Kerala, is a skilled orator in English, Hindi, and Marathi. A distinguished scholar with an Engineering degree from Pune University, Vedji worked in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) before completing the two years’ residential Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya.

Holding a post-graduate degree in MA Sanskrit from Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth and presently pursuing his Ph.D., Vedji embodies youthful dynamism coupled with genuine wisdom. Personally, Vedji exudes cheerfulness and kindness, endearing himself to everyone, from youngsters to adults.
